Track Select

Last Friday Shaler had his track select which determines his next trainer for phase two. He got the T-1 which is the track for flying most heavy aircraft. He is going to miss flying the T-6 but is excited about the new opportunity with the T-1. Here are a couple photos from that night. I forgot to turn the flash on so some of the pictures are fuzzy.... :P

Skatetown

We took Reagan roller skating at the indoor rink this past weekend. She had so much fun! We were impressed with how quickly she picked up on it. She had fun with her Daddy and with a few or her friends.

The past couple months.....

We have not done a whole lot these past couple of months except that Reagan keeps on growing. We got Reagan a big girl bike for Easter which she loves. She can finally keep up with all her friends on their bikes. The weather has been nice so Shaler has been enjoying his BBQ. I think we do a daily run to the commissary for meat! Reagan loves helping both outside and helping me in the kitchen. She is our little chef! Shay is more than half way through his mid phase which means about 5 weeks until track select!! He is loves flying and is enjoying himself immensely. He says he goes to work everyday but I believe he is having too much fun for it to be called work! Well I hope to keep everyone more up to date this summer!

Easter

We had a fun Easter weekend. Living on base is nice because they always have a lot of activities for kids to do on holidays. They had an Easter egg hunt which Reagan loved. She also saw the Easter bunny and was so excited until we wanted her to get a picture with him! The look in her face explains it all! We also and little basket for her on Easter morning and had her finds eggs in our house. We missed you all during the holiday and hope to see you all soon! I have more pictures from the last couple of months that I will post a little later.

Shay's Solo

After waiting weeks to solo in his T-6 Shay finally did today. The weather has been so bad here that everyone is so far behind in their flying. Reagan and I had the opportunity to walk out to the flight line and see shay in the plane. Reagan loves seeing her daddy fly and she thought he was great despite the freezing temperatures and bitter wind!

After you solo you get chased down and dunked in the tank. The point is to try and make it back to the flight room and if you don't you get dunked. Shay tried to use Reagan to get away but it didn't work. He then tried to bolt after handing her to me and that didn't work either! He actually lucked out because the tank was frozen over so he couldn't get dunked. I am sure that won't stop these guys from dunking him a different day! :) Reagan however did not like watching her daddy get tackled!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year with just us. It was our first Christmas together without any extended family but we still enjoyed it. Reagan really enjoyed herself with all her new toys from Santa. A couple of gifts were an Ariel doll and a floor puzzle of the sea. She loves anything that relates to underwater these days. Needless to say, her favorite movie is Finding Nemo. Here are some pictures from that day

Thanksgiving

I know it has been awhile since Thanksgiving but I am finally getting around to posting. We had Grandma and grandpa Mortensen as well as Aunt Ilene and Eric here for Thanksgiving. It was really fun to have family here and to show them Enid, OK! :) We had so much fun and it was exciting for Shaler and I to be hosts for Thanksgiving. We smoked our turkey this year and I must say it was pretty darn good!!
