4th of July
I am finally getting around to posting some pictures. We have had a busy couple of months with moving and getting settled in our new home. We love it here in Orting, WA. We love being close to family again. Now if we could just make some new friends... Joys of moving a lot!:( We celebrated the 4th with family. It was so much fun running a round with cousins. We tried to get a new family photo and here is what we cam up with.... and a few extra's!

How we are...
Lila is almost 3 months old and getting cuter everyday. Reagan is loving it more now that Lila smiles at her and is much more aware. She is a great big sister and a big helper. Shay will be done with Altus the first part of May. (FINALLY!!!) We move May 18th to Seattle and will be there May 23rd. I fly out to Seattle this week to go buy our first home! I am so nervous but super excited at the same time. We are excited for this new chapter in our lives and to be with family again. However, we are sad to leave our good friends here in Enid.

Introducing....
We are thrilled to announce our new addition to our family! Lila Eve Mortensen was born January 14th at 12:51 pm. She was 5 days early which I was not disappointed about at all! So the story goes.... I woke up about 5:30 am to use the bathroom and of course I laid there in bed unable to fall asleep again. Around 6:00am as I was lying in bed I felt my water break. I went to the bathroom again to double check and sure enough, I was right! I woke Shay and then jumped in the shower. As I got out Shay was already to go to the hospital. I told him we weren't going for awhile. He looked confused and annoyed that he could still be sleeping. Gotta love our husbands! I didn't start having contractions until about 7:30 am and even then they were not bad. I decided around 9:30 am to go to the hospital even though my contractions were not that far apart. The hospital was only 10 min away so we were in no rush. When we got to the hospital I was dilated to 5cm, zero station and 100% effaced. It didn't shock me that I was already progressed that far because I had pretty much had been at that stage for 3 weeks. My plan was to do this one natural and I didn't want it any other way. Shay was an awesome support system and I could not have done it without him! Crazy enough Shay was actually suppose to be gone at another training. The only reason he was home was because he came home from his training a week prior with pneumonia. At the time I was not thrilled but now I am grateful for pneumonia! Around 12:30 pm the contractions finally started to worsen I and I didn't know if I could make. Shay pushed me through it and after they told me I was at a 9cm I had no choice but to continue without medicine. Finally after about 7 min of pushing Lila arrive at 12:51! I will brag a little and say that I extremely proud of myself for sticking to my plan of a natural childbirth. I am so grateful I chose to do it without medicine.

Reagan has been enjoying her little sister! She is very loving and always wants to make her happy. We struggle a little with the crying. She doesn't like to hear her cry and either runs away or starts crying herself but we will work through it. We love our family of 4 and can't wait for everyone to meet Lila!

Trying to be patient....
I will be 39 weeks on Wednesday and we can't wait to have our new addition! We hope that she comes soon so Shaler can have as much time with her before he leaves the first of February for his 3 month training at Altus. So keep us in your prayers! (plus I do not want to be induced! yuck!) So hopefully this is the last pregnancy photo that will be posted. We will keep everyone updated when Lila arrives!

Christmas 2010
We had a wonderful little Christmas with just us this year. It is fun to have little kids that understand what Christmas is about and Santa. Reagan makes Christmas exciting! We were able to talk to family on Skype in the morning and then went over to our friends home for dinner. It was a very enjoyable day!

Earlier in the week we made a gingerbread house. Of course with Shaler's framing background it couldn't be just a little house. It had to have a Popsicle stick structure with all the bells and whistles. I think that both Reagan and Shaler had more fun eating the candy then putting it on the house! Thanks to Shaler the house turned our great!
